In 1967 the Department of Defence sent me to do a course at the Australian Atomic Energy Commission, Lucas Heights.
We took a flat at Elizabeth Bay, and on Anzac Day wandered up to Elizabeth Street to watch the march – mainly World War II veterans, including Polish veterans and our own Z-Specials (special forces), and a few veterans of World War I.
See the low-rise buildings of 1960s Sydney. See the sun drenched streets.
